Ministerial Licensing
C11 Born Again
Gain powerful knowledge about the born again experience and how to use this experience to have a powerful Christian walk. This course covers the belief, repentance, new birth, prayer and fasting, studying the word, and worship.
-Literature: Overcomers’ Guide
C12 Evangelism
This course focuses on the power of evangelism and outreach strategies to fulfill the Great Commission. There is a focus on examples of evangelism from scriptures, and the mandate by God for all Christians to engage in evangelistic practices.
C13 Teaching the Word of God
This course gives ministry leaders practical strategies for teaching the word of God and to develop curriculum. There is a focus on becoming an effective teacher who is able to present Biblical lessons to diverse audiences.
C14 History of Christianity and Pentecost
This course gives a historical sketch of Christian history focusing on figures from Peter to Martin Luther. This course also extends into the history of Pentecostal movements in North America.
Ministerial Ordination
020 Compassion Ministry
This course focuses on the power of love and empathy in conducting compassion ministry. There is a focus on understanding cultural trends of diverse populations and ethnicities. This course gives ministers strategies for ensuring that the foundation of love permeates all ministry activities.
O21a Survey of Old Testament
This course presents basic statistical, historical, and thematic information concerning the Old Testament. There is a focus on key figures, prophecies, and events.
O21b Survey of New Testament
This course presents basic statistical, historical, and thematic information concerning the New Testament. There is a focus on the life of Christ, Acts, and sketches of the Pauline Epistles, General Epistles, and a outline of events in the book of Revelation.
O22 Development of Ministerial Plans
This course focuses on the development of ministerial goal setting, ministry planning, church organization, and church law. There is also a brief exploration of contemporary ministries and strategies used to become thriving and effective.
O23 Apologetics and Advancing 21st Century Ministry
This course focuses on defending the basic tenants of Apostolic illumination and engaging in a contrast between it and other Christian knowledge sets. This course focuses on techniques, philosophies and ideas in defending the Christian faith against atheism, Islam, and other world-wide religions.
O24 Apostolic Based Liturgies, Ceremonies and Protocols
This course prepares ministers to understand and conduct sacred ceremonies such as communion, baptism, child blessings, weddings and funerals. This course also explores protocol systems.
B2 School of Ministry
Each completed course receives a certificate of completion (courses can also be used as 3 elective quarter units to be transferred to a Bishop University undergraduate program).
B2SOM 101 The Gospel Truth
This course explores the most powerful life changing message given to humankind...The Gospel. Students will explore the scriptures that highlight the gospel and explore strategies for sharing the gospel with people.
B2SOM 102 Exploring the Gospels
This course takes an in-depth look at the gospels. Focusing on the life of Christ, parables and the passion, this course explores the basic information in each gospel while synthesizing events of all four gospels.
B2SOM 103 Exploring the Pauline Epistles
The greatest contributor to New Testament writings is the Apostle Paul of Tarsus. This course takes a moderately in-depth look at the key illuminations, revelations and themes in the Pauline epistles.
B2SOM 104 Exploring the General Epistles
This course explores the epistles of James, 1 & 2 Peter, Jude, and 1-3 John.
B2SOM 105 The Book of Revelation
One of the most powerful books in the Bible is the book of Revelation. Being the culminating prophecy of end time events, Revelation is vital for all children of God to understand. This course studies the book of Revelation through the lenses of a pre-tribulation theological framework, while contrasting it with other end time prophecy theories. The synthesis of prophecies in Daniel, Ezekiel, other Old Testament prophets, and the words of Christ, allows students to gain a holistic view of the book of Revelation.
B2SOM 106 Information Age Strategies
This course explores technology and information system use for ministry in the 21st century. This course prepares students to use a variety of software, social networking, and online resources to enhance the Christian experience and ministry opportunities.
B2SOM 107 Writing Strategies
(May be mandatory for students desiring to enter the Bachelor of Art programs)
This course prepares students for college level writing. With a focus on a variety of writing genres, the Writing Strategies course provides students with strategies and practice developing essays, journals, and conducting research based writings.
B2SOM 108 Great Figures in Biblical Studies
This course explores the lives and contributions of great Biblical figures.
B2SOM 109 Women Throughout the Scriptures
This course explores the lives and contributions of women throughout scriptures. There is a focus on contemporary women’s issues and how the word of God gives solutions to these issues.
B2 SOM 110 Men’s Ministry 101
This course focuses on the history and plight of men as God’s divine manager for earth. There is a focus on the status of men in contemporary issues and agents that fight against man’s position as head of the household. This course ends with strategies for developing a strong men’s ministry.
B2SOM 111 Public Speaking to Diverse Populations
This course prepares students for public speaking in small and large groups. There is a focus on demonstration and application of learned materials. Students will be prepared to speak to a diversity of groups both in and outside of religious settings.
BACHELOR DEGREE PROGRAMS (Fall 2016)
Prerequisites: 36 Quarter units of elective courses must be completed in order to enter into all Bachelor level course work. Only 12 Quarter Units may be transferred from another college or university and will only be applied to elective requirements. Students may complete elective requirement in any combination. Example: 18 Quarter Units from B2 School of Ministry & 18 Quarter combined Units from Ministerial Licensing and/or Ordination Certificate programs or completing both the Ministerial and Ordination certificate programs and 9 Quarter Units from B2 School of Ministry.
